I have owned a laptop computer from HP for about 3 years now and I am thinking about buying a newone. The thing is, for the past year or so, it has given me nothing but problems and since I am going to enter college soon, it would be nice to start fresh. I could just buy a new battery + adapter cord and such, but by the time I shell out about 300 for that, I could just go ahead and by the new computer since I will probably wind up getting one in a few years anyway. What should I do?

When I click on "My Computer", the little flashlight goes back and forth searching and searching and finally after several minutes shows my drives. Sometimes, even then, it does not recognize portable storage devices connected to a USB port. This problem began several months ago, but before that, as soon as I double-clicked "My Computer", the drive icons would show up. My computer is about 3 years old.

My back light works fine while my laptop computer is starting up but turns off before I’m fully booted up and nothing I do can get it to come back on. Everything else works fine but without my back light the screen is difficult to see in the daylight. I have a Gateway laptop about 3 years old with Vista software. Can anyone help me?

I bought my Acer Extensa (2300) laptop recently. It is 3 years old.
The battery (lithium ion) is supposed to last 2hrs when new. The battery I have lasts 1hr. It has an mAhr of 2200.
Replacement batteries online that I’ve found for my battery part number are all mAhr 4400.
Why is the mAhr of replacement batteries different to the mAhr of my battery, even though the part number is the same? Does it matter?
Thanks very much

I have a laptop computer that I bought 3 years ago. I just a brand new laptop and don’t use the old one anymore. I would like to sell the old computer. How would I remove any personal information from the hard drive? I had the old one just restored just a few months ago. I still have personal pictures on the computer. Thanks for any help with the question.

ok so i’m gonna be adopted by a familt that say that they arn’t gonna let me do alot of stuff i used to in 2 days(i thought it was 5 but i guess i’m moving there on saturday) which ticks me off! and now i just find out their gonna take away my laptop! i tottaly NEED my laptop to keep in touch with my friends that live in japan! my laptop has so many pictures that i have drawn! and it has many stories that have made! and the reason why they said i can’t have it anymore is because the think i’m "to young" for a laptop! i’m 14 as well.
what should i do??!!
i do not throw tantrums and have not thrown one since i was i think 3 years old. i’m am very mature for my age.
i actualy belive it’s gonna be worse because their not going to let me do the things i used to be able to do like watch anime, do kendo, and sell my pictures. and also, most of the time they will not know what i’m saying on messenger because it will be in japanese and these people do not understand japanese.
