My father is wanting to get cable internet for his notebook computer with out all of the extra wires going across the room… what all does he need to be able to do this? His computer is an older Dell notebook that has ME on it, if that makes a difference.
Does he really need a cable modem, wireless router and a wireless reciever? Could there be a wireless cable modem out on the market? That way he would only have to buy that and a reciever?

I am looking for a notebook computer that will allow me to edit very large professional quality images quickly using photoshop. What should I be looking for in a notebook using this criteria?

I have a notebook computer, and I need to carry it around. I have both a regular backpack and a computer backpack (has a padded computer slot, but is probably twice as bulky w/ all the extra pockets). I really like my regular one better, but is it less safe to store my computer without the padding of a computer backpack? Thanks.

The screen on my husbands’ notebook computer cracked. Is it difficult to replace? Since he installed memory, graphics cards, and sound cards into computers in the past is this something he can do himself? Does anyone know of any "do it yourself" websites on notebook computer repair? We cannot really afford to pay someone to repair it right now.

Hi, What reason is there to prefer the notebook computer over a netbook? I am a bit confused about which one to get. Thanks.

What is the difference between a netbook computer and a notebook computer? I am looking for a laptop mainly for music and school use, not so much gaming. Is it worth it for me to just get a netbook? Or should I get a notebook?

I am looking into building my own notebook computer but I can’t seem to do it for under 0. I saw at Best Buy they have some for 9. How can they sell them so cheap? What is their secret?

I took my old laptop in to Best Buy today because it had stopped booting. It is a few years old and they said it is more cost efficeient to buy a new one than to put money into the old one. So, now i’m trying to choose a new notebook computer. I am a teacher but this is my home computer. I want it for music, picture and video playing and editing, School related things (word processing, powerpoint) and internet as well as my financial records etc. I do not want a Mac because it will not be compatible with my computers at school. Any suggestions? What should I be looking for?
