My friend adopted 7 children and is giving them all notebook computers for xmas (gift) I would like to know the most optimum way to get them all on the internet. There will be a router about 20ft from where the computer is but perhaps there is a more optimum way to do this. Perhaps there is something to purchase to make this idea better? Any help is great! I promise to award the 10 points and not let this go to a vote…..
My router got broke while in the process of relocating and it will be a few weeks before it is possible for me to replace it. Is it possible to piggyback a signal off my laptop computer by using a wireless adapter, so that I can connect my desktop computer to the internet so that my wife and I can use the internet at the same time?
Thank you, in advance, for any help that you can provide.

This week Darren is joined in San Francisco by his wonderful co-host Shannon! I know, right? We’re talking about open source software that will save the day if your laptop is ever stolen, following up on your password tips, and finishing up the homebrew router build with Untangle!
My laptop has wifi but Im only picking a couple locked networks from neighbors. I’ve been told that I don’t have wireless internet here at the house so my laptop wont pick it up. I use an embarq router. Is there anyway i can get my laptop to connect to the embarq network here at my house?
Every night, my router keeps transferring data slower and slower until it finally disconnects from my laptop. It never happens during the day and I’m positive that it is not the dsl or the laptop, but the router.

Dell laptop was connected to wireless network but not now.
Have another Dell laptop with external card that connects. Main desktop has a modem and router.
The laptop is wireless. I have installed the printer on the laptop which clearly shows it. I leave the main computer on then press print on the laptop. It comes up with an error message. The laptop uses Vista, the main computer uses XP. I don’t want to use wires and the printer can’t be connected to the router via an ethernet cable. Is there a way to do what I am trying to do or do Vista and XP clash?
